Skincare Wishlist Courtesy Of Double Toning

When I start reading skincare reviews, I usually end up with wishlists x___x Lately I have been reading about double toning and am quite intrigued. Now that I’m approaching mid-thirties, I figure I need to pay more attention to skin hydration. But I still have problems with blackheads and general clogged-pores issue so exfoliating is also a big deal. Double toning may be the way to go. Essentially, it’s pairing two toners with different qualities. One is exfoliating toner and the other is hydrating. Makes perfect sense when you think about it. Like everybody else, I have been reading Caroline Hirons’ suggestions. Hence this wishlist *sigh*

Speaking of exfoliating toner, my best experience with this kind of toner is SK-II Clear Lotion. It really helps with blackheads. Too bad I consider it too expensive to repurchase. Although, the exfo toner in my wishlist is not cheap, either. Yep, you probably guessed it. Pixi Glow Tonic. Oh, I wish it was the locally available Pixy, but no. It is frustratingly only available in UK (USA, too, recently but still pretty hard to find). People are raving about this baby so I probably put more effort to get this. Living in Indonesia, everything  is expensive when it gets here. If I can’t justify the price, I might repurchase SK-II after all. Sekalian mahal aja, gitu.

I used to think you only need one toner, so I usually choose exfo toner. I figure why use hydrating toner when moisturizer is coming up next? Turns out hydrating and moisturizing is not necessarily the same. One other thing I learn from dear Lady Hirons 😁. One toner that caught my eyes is Thayers. I really don’t have many ideas regarding this hydrating toners. I might consider Secret Key Witch Hazel toner, I don’t know.

Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner

So, that was my toner wishlist, which is my primary wishlist. The following is my random wishlist 😁 I might get these, I might change my mind. Double toning really set my mind on the idea of hydrating my skin. The toners I will get, one way or the other. I might settle on cheaper alternatives like Hada Labo lotion. These, on the other hand, may always be a wishlist and nothing more.

Hydraluron Moisture Booster

Hydraluron Moisture Jelly

Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser

Hydraluron moisture booster is not a long shot, actually, but I think I still have a long way to go before spending $45 for a cleanser 😁

Feel free to suggest more toners for me. I’d really appreciate it ☺️

Another Book Wishlist!

Gosh, I haven’t even fulfilled my January wishlist and here I am with another one. So, any bookworm would know that you can get different versions of a book. For Harry Potter (book 5 onward), I was adamant to get the first edition hardcovers. I figured they would be collector’s items (so much) later on.

Other books I don’t really care, usually I just get the mass market paperback, or whatever’s cheapest. #emakirit

Different versions usually have different artwork in the covers. So this might be another point to influence your decision. Like I said, I usually don’t care. Except this one. I’ve just finished reading Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson. Griss put me up to this and I don’t regret it. The series is definitely one of the most well-thought, well-planned, and detailed series I’ve ever come upon. It’s epic. And I loooooveee the main characters Vin and Elend Venture. They’re so human, so real (as real as a fantasy character can get). I found myself relating to them often. By the way, all of the characters in this series are well developed. Sazed, Spook, Breeze, Kelsier (don’t get me started on Kelsier), TenSoon… I love them all! Even the Lord Ruler himself. Anyhow, that’s why if I’m ever gonna get a print of this series, I probably go for the mass market paperback edition. Because of this cover of The Hero of The Ages:

I love the artwork. And since it depicts my two favorite characters, I can’t say no to this. Obvoiusly, I’m gonna get the whole series plus the novella, Alloy of Law. #nabungdulu

Book Wishlist

Blame it on e-reader, but now I find myself reading tons of books without actually owning the physical book. E-reader is easy and all, but I miss the feel and smell of the paper. So, I’d still like to get the books I really love in print. Obviously these are the ones I want this month. Next month? who knows if I still want them or not :p Here they are in no particular order.

The Cuckoo’s Calling – Robert Galbraith
The Silkworm – Robert Galbraith
Beautiful Oblivion – Jamie McGuire
Beautiful Redemption – Jamie McGuire (end of January 2015)
Legend Trilogy – Marie Lu Legend, Prodigy, Champion
Divergent Series – Veronica Roth Divergent, Insurgent, Allegiant, Four
