5 Things I Won’t Miss From My Pregnancy

Buat yang kenal saya, bukan rahasia lagi kalau dua kehamilan terakhir saya semuanya tidak terencana. They’re gifts 😁. Jadi, sebenernya bukannya doyan banget hamil jadi sampe empat kali gini. That being said, I quite enjoy being pregnant. Ya namapun  kalo udah kejadian, kan, better go with the flow. Go make lemonade, gitu. Tapi semenyenangkan (is this correct grammar?) apapun hamil itu, ada beberapa hal yang sangat sangat sangat saya gak suka banget (lebay alert) dan hanya terjadi kalau (saya) lagi hamil.

  1. Clogged ears. Kedengaran remeh tapi it’s so annoying! All you can hear is yourself talking and breathing. Ugh! Sure enough, begitu lahiran, normal lagi telinganya. Lega banget bisa denger normal lagi.
  2. Fatigue. Sebenernya ini salah sendiri, sih. Kondisi tubuh sebelum hamil dan aktivitas selama hamil berpengaruh sama seberapa fit badan (yaiyalah). Berhubung di sini modelnya couch potato, doyannya tidur gak pernah olahraga, begitu hamil gede mulai deh muncul rasa lelah. Baru jalan sebentar udah capeeeekkkkk banget rasanya. Makin gede perut makin susah bawa bebannya. Kaki gampang sakit, napas juga sampe susah. Kan sebel padahal pengen (banget) jalan-jalan tapi belom apa-apa udah capek dan kepingin pulang. Nggak sinkron jadinya.
  3. Lower back pain.
Belom lagi kalo utang report banyak 😭 M e n d e r i t a.

I wonder if others also experienced these…

Getting Chubby (Feet)

Edema, described as normal swelling due to additional blood and body fluids, is what I’ve been experiencing this past week. The first time I realized this was when I noticed my rubber Melissa shoes had a tear! Asleee, saking kaki melebar sepatu jadi sobek! This is new for me because I didn’t experience any kind of swelling when I was pregnant with Aria nor Rory. Like, at all! Now, I see my feet and I don’t recognize them. Someone has stolen my feet and replaced them with balloon-feet! (insert horror emoticon)

I don’t mind the swelling. For what I’ve heard/read, it’s perfectly normal especially in the last trimester, as long as it is not sudden which may be sign of preeclampsia.  However, I didn’t know that some discomfort/pain would be involved! x___x One weekend I spent a lot of time on my feet. What else, doing shopping and mall-ing 😀 The following Monday, my right foot hurt! Putting pressure on it was painful. 😦 I spent the rest of the day in bed (was down with a cold anyway) and tried to always elevate my legs. I figured having to drive to work also contributed to the swelling. So for the rest of the pregnancy period (just a couple of weeks more) dear husband will pick me up at work. Hopefully this will help to keep swelling to minimum.

Hormones, Hormones

I am currently in my 20th week of pregnancy. Couple of weeks ago I started noticing something. My skin seemed drier than usual. I found some areas on my face that are flaky. Today I realized that my fingertips started to show some flakiness, too. I knew that hormonal changes can do weird things to your body so that was my first thought. Upon scouring the internet I found that indeed hormonal and immune system changes during pregnancy is likely the reason behind skin changes.

Sadly, I’m not the most diligent person when it comes to skin and body care. Sure, I love makeup, but skin care is a whole other ball game. Now I have no choice but to pay more attention while at the same time looking for products safe enough to use.

My laziness hit all time high nowadays. The simple task of cleansing face at the end of the day has become such a chore. Now I’m relying on facial wipes to remove dirt and makeup (which now I rarely use) and non alcohol toner afterwards. In the morning I use booster/essence and then moisturizer. I’ve read that in order to combat dryness during pregnancy, a treatment of moisturizing facial mask once a week is recommended. I only plan on doing once a month/3 weeks. I hope it’s enough :/

I haven’t ask my obgyn or do a skin consultation but my suspicion is that although I continue to experience oiliness on my face (especially nose and T-zone), the flakiness suggests dehydration is taking place. This is frustrating 😦 I hope once I start religiously doing my skincare regime, my skin’ll get better.

These are the products I plan to use. Already trimmed and narrowed down since I can’t use too much. Shoo, shoo, dry skin!
