I think it’s pretty obvious by now that I love make up and online shopping. Sometimes I found cute stuff that I don’t necessarily need when I shop around. So why don’t I offer those stuff to others? That way I can still fulfill my shopping craze without going bankrupt *evil*

Setengah Tahun Sudah

Aaaaaahhhhh sudah lama nggak diupdate blognya, kasian amat. Akhir-akhir ini nggak sempet. Riweuh urus anak-anak karena sempet nggak ada asisten. Ini aja nulis modal blekberi doang, sambil dipanjat-panjat Rory. Ini bayi curious banget sih.

Karena sehari-hari uwel-uwelan Aria-Rory doang (bapaknya dicuekin), post hari ini soal Rory aja ya. (Agak) nggak kerasa, umurnya udah hampir 7 bulan aja nih. Rory tumbuh sehat dan normal, syukurlah. Rory yang tadinya enteng-mungil (lahir 2.9kg), di usianya yang 6 bulan kemarin sudah melonjak jadi 8.6kg. Asoyyyyy deh kalo gendong lama-lama. Beraaaaaaaat! Bener-bener deh pake babywrap membantu banget kalo jalan-jalan sama Rory. Soalnya dia kurang suka pake stroller. Soal babywrap ini nanti mau posting terpisah ah.

Bayi lucu ini namanya Aisyah Rory Fadilah. Kekeuh banget saya pengen pake nama Rory. Kadung jatuh cinta sama karakter Rory Gilmore. Dan emang waktu hamil nonton serial ini terus hihihihi… Aisyah nama pilihan bapaknya. I preferred Azzahra or Amarra actually. Tapi ya sudahlah kasian bapaknya :p Lahirnya 2.9kg, 46cm (lebih sih kayaknya, bidannya nggak berani terlalu ngelurusin badannya buat diukur), lingkar kepala 33cm. Sekarang? Usia 6 bulan (hampir sebulan lalu) Rory sudah 8.6kg, panjangnya 73cm dan lingkar kepalanya 44cm. Semua masih normal. Bahkan dia cenderung panjang. Ya kalo liat bapaknya yang menjulang ya wajarlah ya. Tadinya kita kira dia nggak akan sebesar Aria di usia yang sama, karena beda berat lahirnya yang ½ kilo. Ternyata, Aria dulu waktu 6 bulan beratnya 8.9kg, cuma beda 300gram aja. Jadi Rory ini termasuk gede! Syukurlah, ASI saya masih cukup bergizi buatnya berarti. *senang* Berbekal pengalaman selama nyusuin Aria, sekarang santai. Walaupun PD nggak berasa penuh-penuh amat, nyusuin santai aja, semaunya Rory. Terbukti kan Rory baik-baik aja. Nggak harus tuh, ASI sampai luber-luber baru dibilang mencukupi. Kata kuncinya kan “cukup”, bukan “lebih”. Terus terang aja, PD saya malah lebih sering berasa kempes kok. Nursing bra aja kegedean nih, padahal waktu nyusuin Aria keisi penuh tuh cup-nya hihihihi *mulai too much information* Jadi intinya ya pede-pede aja deh kalo soal nyusuin. Liat aja anaknya kalo masih normal ya belom perlu kuatir. Tapi, memang sih saya nggak pernah mompa. Cuma beberapa kali waktu Rory disinar pas usia 2 minggu. Habis itu nggak pernah lagi. Makanya nggak pernah ada “added pressure” dengan liat hasil perahan. Buat ibu-ibu bekerja ya lain dong ya ceritanya. Ini kan pengalaman saya aja.

Nah, udah asi eksklusif selama 6 bulan, sekarang waktunya MPAsi. Tadinya mau pake metode baby-led weaning yang anaknya dibiarkan eksplor makanannya tanpa disuapi. Tapi karena satu dan lain hal, akhirnya pake MPAsi biasa aja, bubur beras dengan cara spoon-fed. Daaannnnn jeng-jeng! Rory ini doyan makan… Udah keliatan sih sebenernya. Kayaknya napsu banget masukin benda-benda ke mulut dan ikut kelametan kalo liat orang makan. Sendoknya sampe digigit-gigit tuh kalo lagi disuapin. Dan mulutnya nyamperin sendok, beda sama Aria yang lebih sering nolak disuapin.
Sekarang Rory lagi belajar duduk nih. Belom bisa, curiganya keberatan bodi jadi susah seimbangnya. Hihihihihi… Sekitar usia 4 bulan udah bisa tengkurep, langsung bisa balik posisi tidur lagi (jadi, dia udah gulang-guling kemana-mana yang berpotensi jatoh dari tempat tidur). Dia juga udah bisa bergerak maju. Gayanya kayak uget-uget gitu. Naik pake lengan & dengkul, terus badannya dijatohin ke depan. Jalan deh dia. Barang ditaro dimanapun bisa dikejar. Bikin emaknya sport jantung karena sering tiba-tiba udah di pinggir, hampir jatoh. Lasaaaaaakkkk…. Terus kadang-kadang dari posisi tengkurep, dia naik bertumpu pake tangan, terus kaki. Nungging. Jadi kayak binatang berkaki empat gitu, hihihihi… Kalo digendong dan diposisikan berdiri, kakinya juga menjejak cukup kuat, kayak udah mau berdiri. Nah, untuk yang ini karena belom waktunya jadi nggak sering-sering. Kasian tulang kakinya belom kuat. Pelan-pelan ya nak. Duduk dulu.

Ahhh Rory. Kalau bayi itu rasanya cepet gede ya? Baju-baju cepet banget sempit. Sekarang Rory pakai ukuran 9m, bahkan kadang ukuran setahun. Nanti kalau udah mulai jalan baru deh rada melambat atau mandek. Aria baju ukuran 2th banyak yang masih cukup tuh. Sehat-sehat terus ya Rory. *kiss-kiss*

“Naik, naik, ke puncak gunung. Tinggi, tinggi, skayi. Tut-tut. Kiyi, kanan, banyak pohon semua. Tut-tut.”

I was confused at first. Then it hit me, he was combining two songs: Naik ke Puncak Gunung and Naik Kereta.

Playdate at The Playground

Para ibu-ibu

Libur lebaran kemaren ini, saya berkesempatan untuk bertemu-kangen (duileh) dengan sepupu-sepupu yang udah nggak di Jakarta. They’re home for the holidays and we decided we’d have a playdate for the kids (and mommies). Aria hasn’t seen his cousin Bima for months now. We haven’t met baby Sasha either. So one Saturday we all went to The Playground Kemang for a playdate.

The place is located in the quiet, leafy-street of Kemang Dalam area. I needed to google directions to get there since it was pretty secluded. When we get there the clerks behind the register constantly gave directions on how to get to the place over the phone. So obviously a lot of people are having trouble finding where it is.

The Playground provides two main areas, wet area and dry area. The dry area featured swings, hanging bridge, slides, see-saw, mini monkey bars etc. It also has a sandy area. While the wet area had water slides and fountain/shower area. There are also two basketball rims, one is child-sized so toddlers can play too.

Our kids really enjoyed playing there. Aria & Bima is 34 month old while Jagesa is 23 mos. The place suited them very well so I’d say the place is recommended for kids aged 18 months and above. Younger than that is fine, too, but most of the activities will be slightly dangerous for them. I also recommend that child under 6 years is under constant supervision from parents or caregivers. Bukannya over protektif ya, tapi kalo rame masalahnya jadi tambah bahaya. Anak-anak seliweran lari-lari. Some of the “bule” kids I saw while we were there are playing by themselves. Bagus juga sih, jadi mandiri. Tapiiiiii gue gregetan waktu dua anak rebutan mainan di pinggir kolam bola yang rada tinggi. Ampuuuun deh kalo jatoh itu bakalan benjol segede gaban, kalo beruntung. Biarin deh gue agak parno dikit daripada anak patah tulang. Bahayanya lagi kadang-kadang anak yang agak besar suka agak careless. Main grasak-grusuk aja padahal ada toddler di sebelahnya. Si toddler jadi beresiko jatoh ketabrak atau kesenggol yang gede-gede. Supervision is necessary. Padahal gue kemaren juga lagi gendong si baby jadinya ya nggak bisa ngawasin berlebihan juga. Terpaksa bapaknya yang turun tangan. Oiya kalo niat mau ngawasin anaknya main ya bersiaplah untuk berbasah basah. Jadi bawalah baju ganti yang memadai.

Dulu sempet baca review kalo di sini bisa delivery untuk makanan. Tapi ternyata kemaren udah ada notice nggak boleh bawa makanan dari luar, harus pesen di kafenya mereka. Makanannya standar, ada nasi goreng, fish and chips, burger, gitu-gitu. Ada menu breakfast kayak pancake, waffle gitu. Ukurannya gigantic bok. Mungkin karena pengguna Playground banyakan bule-bule yang makannya banyak kali ya.

So, this is a recommended place for you to take your kids to have fun. Let me see if I can remember some more information about the place.

Ticket: 65.000/ kid. Satu anak bisa ditemenin 2 adults, for free. Extra adults dikenakan fee 50.000/adult. Kemaren sih my baby (3 mos) can enter free, soalnya dia nggak bisa ngapa-ngapain juga kan.
Tiket berlaku seharian. Jadi, enaknya dateng pagi, main sampe capek, bisa pulang buat lunch dan nap terus balik lagi sorenya. Ya tentunya kalo rumahnya deket ya.
Harga makanan mulai dari 15.000-an. Harga cukup oke, rasa memadai. Maaf nggak bantu soalnya bukan foodie sih. Menurut gue sih enak-enak aja kok.
Dress light. It’s hot out there! Area main ada atapnya jadi nggak bakal kena ujan sih. Tapi kayaknya jadi nge-trap heat. Gerah bokkk! Area basah lumayan rindang, and anywho there’s water splashing so it’s pretty cool.
Tempat duduk rada susah. Ada kayak saung-saung gitu cuma kok kemaren masa di-reserve. Tapi sampe gue pulang kosong aja tuh saung. Rese juga sih. Padahal di rombongan gue ada dua bayi. We could use that saung very much.
Business hours: 09.00 – (approx.) 18.00. Not so sure of the closing time.

Rory juga kayaknya seneng liat mas-masnya seliweran lari-lari. Digendong diem-diem aja tuh sambil liat sana-sini. Bahkan akhirnya tidur sambil digendong. It was a great day. We all (children and parents) sleep for hours when we got home. We were happily tired.

Acquired Taste

As long as I can remember, I have always been a picky eater. I remember when my mother made fried egg (telor ceplok), I would only eat the whites. And they have to be crispy, at least on the outside. No soggy egg whites for me. Growing up, I remained picky when it came to food. Even in my mid twenties I would order plain cheeseburgers at McDonald’s. I hated (well, still actually) pickles and didn’t care much for the onions, ketchup and mustard. Burgers with lettuces, tomatoes and onions? Forget it. I’d picked out all of the extras and eat just the bun, meat and cheese (if any).
When I go to restaurants, I usually order menu items that are “safe”. Chicken, beef, pasta, that sort of things. I wasn’t really adventurous. In fact, I remember almost always ordering a burger whenever possible. I didn’t eat the vegs on it obviously.
Nowadays, I’m glad to say that my palate have developed a bit. I used to hate tomatoes. Whenever they appear to garnish a dish like nasi goreng or fish and chips, I treated them as decorations. I never eat them. Now (in the 29th year of my life) I actually don’t hate them. I love the tangy-sweet taste of tomatoes giving contrast to my favorite rich coconut-milky soto betawi,or how their fresh watery flesh give balance to the oily nasi goreng. Only now do I understand the importance of balance in food (kasian amat ya gue). I even ate a slice as snack once.
Other things I used to hate are onions. I didn’t like fried shallots that usually accompany lots of traditional Indonesian dishes such as nasi uduk or mie goreng. Now I find that they are tolerable. Fried shallots are ok actually. I still don’t like raw onions though. I picked them out of my burgers. Quite a hassle so “no onions” is a phrase I always say. But funnily enough, I LOVE onion rings. Always have. Oh, and caramelized onions. They’re sweet so I do like it.
There are lots of things that I used to hate but I quite like now. Bell peppers and mushrooms for instance. I love grilled bell peppers and deep fried battered mushrooms. Having them on my pizza is no longer a problem. I find that some things do take some getting used to. Having an open mind when trying out new food is also necessary. I don’t eat sushi until well into my twenties. Now I crave for sushi at least once a month. I used to order my steak well done. Gradually I learn to appreciate the tenderness of meat when not cooked until done. It was medium-well for a while and now I don’t take anything more than medium. When I was pregnant I actually chose not to eat steaks because I couldn’t have them cooked medium. I’d rather wait.
In my opinion, “acquired taste” can also be applied to other things, such as books, music, films or even people! Sometimes I find that this person that used to be intolerable to be around with, turned out to be okay. I just need to familiarize myself with him or simply ignore him. Suddenly he’s not such a pain anymore :p Some people are just not likable on the get-go, you need to get to know them first. As Indonesians say, “nanti juga ketemu selahnya“. You’ll find something in them. Be patient.

Blush of the Week: Estee Lauder Rose Nuance

Supaya nggak bosen, blush of the week warnanya pink. Kemaren kan udah nuansa peach. Estee Lauder Rose Nuance tampilannya cantik banget, dengan gradasi warna warm pink sampai pale pink, hampir putih.

Sayangnya selama seminggu ini karena nggak ada ART jadinya dandan juga cepet-cepet aja, nggak sempet eskplor si bagian putihnya itu untuk jadi highlighter. Kalo dipake bareng sih warnanya pink. No peach tone whatsoever (menurut saya). Pigmentasi bagus. Bahkan, waktu pertama kali nyoba setelah dikasih nyokap (yep, yang ini boleh dapet gratisan. Ihihihihihi…) terlalu tebel makenya. Badut abis euy. Jadi, makenya cukup di tap-tap pelan aja trus tinggal blend di pipi. Nggak powdery kok. As usual saya pake elf studio blush brush, nggak pake brush bawaannya.

Finishnya nggak terlalu shimmery. Di pan keliatan ada shimmer sedikit tapi hampir nggak keliatan begitu sampe di pipi. Jadi buat yang nggak suka bling-bling di pipi ini oke.

Rose nuance ini bagus, tapiiii tetep aja saya ngiler berat sama Peach Nuance yang katanya dupe-nya MAC Ripe Peach itu. Cantiiikkkkkk….

Blush of The Week: MAC Melba

My first choice for blush of the week project is MAC Melba. I heard great reviews on this blush and had to try it myself. I’m into peach-blush-phase now so I really couldn’t wait to get my hand on this blush. I was contemplating on getting it straight from the nearest MAC counter but out of the blue a cousin went to Singapore! So I was able to save a few pennies (well, actually closer to hundred thousand rupiahs, LOL) because she got it at Changi.

Review dari mbak Christine temptalia bilang ini warnanya ” matte medium-dark, browned peach”. Sebenernya sih pengen pure peach yang lebih ke orange, tapi ini juga cakep kok warnanya. Di pan lebih keliatan coklat gitu. Tapi begitu di pipi baru keliatan hint peach-orangenya. Finishnya matte, which I like, soalnya kadang kalo yang shimmery bikin kulit oilyku makin meling-meling heheheee…

MAC Melba

Cakep ya? Begitu dipake, saya suka warnanya. Karena agak coklat jadi keliatan ada efek sun-kissed gitu (my personal opinion ya, might look different on you). Makes me look healthier, instead of my usually pale-never-out-of-the-house complexion.

By the way, this is my first MAC blush. I’ve heard they have good pigmentation but this is the first time I had the chance to see for myself. Dan ternyata emang pigmentasi oke banget. I only need to tap once, lightly with my elf studio blush brush. Warnanya langsung keluar tanpa harus pake banyak-banyak. Jadinya ini udah dipake berkali-kali masih keliatan kayak baru banget. Waduh kapan abisnya ya kalo gini?

Entah kenapa gue koq nggak suka liat cowok pake sendal. Kesannya slob banget gitu. Tapi kalo liat cewek pake sendal teplek jelek gue biasa-biasa aja. Hihihihi sexist yak?

Kemaren waktu mau imunisasi Rory sampe sebel sendiri liat bapak-bapak muda yang pada nemenin istrinya cekap di poli kebidanan. Nggak suka gue liat jempol!

(Online) Shopaholic

Anyone who knows me well will tell you that I love to shop online. My first experience with online shopping was during my first pregnancy. I was sick most of the time, having headaches and morning sickness all day long. So mostly I stayed home, trying to sleep it off.

But I still needed to shop for baby needs. That’s when I started browsing for various baby products and realized that I could shop without leaving my house. I bought various stuff like baby shoes, ring sling, and baby bottles.

I still shop online now. No longer limited to baby needs. I bought makeup, clothes, children clothes, accessories, even food. Once I got this hankering for well known steamed brownies (bronis kukus) from Bandung, I found that this person is willing to shop for you (she lived in Bandung) and send those yummy Bandung snacks all over Indonesia. So I ordered two boxes of my favorite brownies and was enjoying them two days later. Convenient.

I admit this habit is not necessarily healthy for my bank account. I need to REALLY exercise some self control if I don’t want to go bankrupt. But, that being said, it is fun. Retail therapy (in whatever form there is) is always fun. So why don’t I share some of the joy eheheheeee… *evil grin*

These are a few of my favorite online shops. Some I haven’t shopped at but got good reviews from others. Do visit them.

Baby Feits –> organic baby and kids shirt. Verrryyy comfy.
Madison Corner Cloth Diaper Reseller –> what else? Cloth diapers! Various affordable brands.
Athaya Baby Luv –> another cloth diaper store.
Market Plaza FD –> mostly beauty and fashion stuff. Great place if you’re trying to find things that are not available in Indonesia. Most of the sellers conduct frequent pre-order from various brands and stores (like Sephora, Nordstrom, H&M etc.)

There are lots of other great online shops but for the life of me I can’t remember them all. Maybe I’ll do another post on this some other time. In the mean time do visit those shops. Online window browsing is fun, too (especially during tanggal tua, hehehehe….).
